Why HEIC files get rejected Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) by default. It is a good format, but many websites, job portals, Windows PCs and older apps still expect JPG. When you try to attach a HEIC photo, you may see "file type not supported" or nothing happens at all.

Why "no upload" matters Most online converters send your photo to their server, convert it there and send it back. That means a copy of a personal photo — sometimes an ID, a document or a picture of your child — sits on someone else's computer. FitKB decodes HEIC with a bundled decoder that runs inside your browser, then saves a JPG directly to your device.

How to convert 1. Drop one or more HEIC files into the box above, or tap it to pick files. On iPhone, choose "Browse" or "Photos". 2. Leave the size at 1000 KB for a high-quality JPG, or pick a smaller limit if a form demands it. 3. Press Convert and download the JPG.

What about quality and metadata? FitKB uses the highest JPEG quality that fits the size you choose and keeps the original pixel dimensions whenever possible. The converted JPG does not carry the original EXIF data, so your GPS location, phone model and capture time are not included. Each result shows a confirmation that metadata was removed.

Many files? Free use covers two single-file exports per browser. If you have a whole folder of iPhone photos, FitKB Unlimited ($3.99 one-time) converts batches and includes an offline HTML version that works with no internet at all.

Privacy, in plain terms: FitKB runs entirely in your browser tab. Your photo is decoded and re-encoded on your own device using the browser canvas. Nothing is uploaded, there are no analytics or tracking scripts, and the page's Content-Security-Policy blocks connections to other servers. You can switch off Wi-Fi after the page loads and it keeps working.
