Strict limits, sensitive photos Government, visa and exam portals often set exact requirements: a JPG between 20 KB and 50 KB, a signature between 10 KB and 20 KB, or a photo no larger than 240 KB. These photos are also some of the most sensitive images you own, which is a good reason not to send them through a random upload site.

Range mode This page opens in "Between min and max KB" mode with 20–50 KB filled in, a common requirement on Indian exam portals such as SSC, UPSC and IBPS. Change the numbers to match your form. FitKB keeps the result inside both limits: the maximum is met with a small safety margin (50 KB becomes at most 49,000 bytes), and the minimum is counted in 1,024-byte kilobytes so it passes either way the portal measures.

Steps 1. Check the current notice or instructions on the official portal for the exact KB range and pixel size. 2. Crop your photo to the required shape first if dimensions are specified. 3. Drop it above, enter the KB range, press Convert, check the preview and download.

Commonly published limits DS-160 US visa photos: square JPEG, up to 240 KB. Many exam portals: photo 20–50 KB, signature 10–20 KB. Schengen and VFS-style visa portals vary, often up to around 500 KB. Limits change, so always confirm on the official site — FitKB does not check face position or background rules.

Presets FitKB Unlimited ($3.99 one-time) includes one-click presets for these portals, batch processing and an offline version. The range mode on this page is free for two exports per browser.

Privacy, in plain terms: FitKB runs entirely in your browser tab. Your photo is decoded and re-encoded on your own device using the browser canvas. Nothing is uploaded, there are no analytics or tracking scripts, and the page's Content-Security-Policy blocks connections to other servers. You can switch off Wi-Fi after the page loads and it keeps working.
